About the Annual NLPGA Conference


The annual NLPGA Conference and Exhibition is the foremost event for all stakeholders in the Nigerian LPG Sector. It is an opportunity for us to all come together and offer solutions to issues affecting the growth of the sector. Since its inauguration in 2011, the conference has focused on bringing fresh ideas to the key issues affecting our industry.

The Sixth Annual NLPGA Conference will focus on the wider use of LPG into such areas as Domestic, Power Generation, Autogas and Industrial Applications.

The 6th NLPGA Conference and Exhibition will hold on December 1, 2016 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos. The Theme for the Conference is titled ‘The LPG Revolution – The Beginning’.

The Conference will offer the over 500 Delegates / Non-Delegates, Speakers, exhibitors and Special Guests opportunities for high-level networking, business match-making and learning. The conference traditionally sets agenda for engagement by parties in Government, Business, Policy, Industry and Operations.

Nikki is Treasurer of UKLPG, the industry association in the United Kingdom. Nikki has been on the board of directors since 2003. She was appointed as Chair in January 2012 and was the first woman in the Association’s history to hold this position. She is the longest serving member of the current Board of Directors. Nikki is also Chair of the Women in LPG Global Network.

Changing the face of the industry

Gender balance in the LPG industry is not optimised and WLPGA is in a unique position to start to make a change. This change is to be drive by WINLPG. WINLPG is a new global network that will recommend actions and activities as part of the WLPGA strategic planning process to address this issue.

Mrs. Audrey Joe-Ezigbo

Audrey holds several Master’s degrees and certifications in the areas of Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, and Leadership from reputable institutions of learning including the University of Nigeria, and the prestigious Lagos Business School and Harvard Business School.

Audrey also serves on the Boards of several notable corporations where she is able to bring her wealth of experience in business, finance and corporate strategy to the fore. Audrey is an active member of several professional and volunteer service associations. She is a mentor on the formal Mentoring programs of Lagos Business School, Pan Atlantic University; Women in Management, Business & Public Service (WIMBIZ); Apostles in the Market Place (AiMP), and the Federal Government of Nigeria YouWin Women mentoring program, amongst others. Audrey is a Speaker and facilitator, readily sharing her experiences on various facets of management and entrepreneurship through various platforms including the Fate Foundation and Lagos Business School. She is a prolific writer, blogger, and published author of two books – ‘Double Impact’ and ’Uniquely Woman’


Orode Doherty

Country Director

Africare Nigeria

Dr. Orode Doherty is a Pediatrician, Development Specialist and Country Director for Africare Nigeria where she is responsible for overseeing the implementation of several high impact projects, including comprehensive integrated malaria programming services in ten high burden states, care for OVC through education and economic empowerment for caregivers and pioneering integrated life skills leadership and sports programming for in-school youth. She served previously as project director for Africare’s HIV project in Nigeria and as pioneer pediatric advisor at Columbia University’s International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment programs (ICAP). In both positions, she led teams responsible for establishing over 120 community based HIV care and treatment access centers across nine states in Nigeria. Orode was an award winning Pediatric resident and clinician at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, a pediatric center of excellence in the US. She obtained her medical degree from the University of Benin, and a Masters of Public Health degree from Harvard University. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Fellow of third class of the Africa Leadership Initiative West Africa, and a member and moderator of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.

Mrs Betty Amechi Ugona

NGO Gas to Health Inituative

Mrs Betty Amechi Ugona, a graduate of the University of Ilorin in 1985, holds Bachelor Degree in Industrial Chemistry, Post Graduate Diploma in Chemical Engineering and also PGD in Business Administration . Engr. Betty Ugona started her career in NNPC in 1987 as a Process Engineer with the New Port Harcourt Refinery where she worked as a Plant and Panel Operator and later got redeployed to Production Planning and Quality Control Dept.

She was later transferred to PPMC where she worked as Quality Control Officer, Cost Control Engineer, project Engineer, Deputy Manager LPG Sales and Manager LPG before joining NNPC Retail as GM Sales and Marketing coordinating Retail Sales of all white products, LPG Sales, etc.

Mrs Ugona is is a motivational speaker and has passion for leadership and growth of LPG consumption in the country that she founded an NGO GAS TO HEALTH INITIATIVE, with main objective of creating awareness for the use of LPG as the most efficient energy for cooking. targeting women especially the local food vendors who use firewoods and kerosene to cook for their customers.

She is also an author with the followings to her credit- "YOUR CHOICE, YOUR FUTURE & YOUR LIFE"and "WHO COOKS IT FEELS THE BRUNT THE ENVIRONMENT FEELS THE HEAT".

She is happily married to Dr Chudy Ugona, and together they are blessed with Four Children.

Uju Vivian Obuekwe

Uju obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Law, from Abia State University in 1991 and Nigerian Law School in 1992. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Business Administration from the Edinburgh Napier University Business School.

She is a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration, Member, Institute of Management Consultants (IMC) and a Member, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA).

She has over 22 years’ experience in Law, Marketing Communications, Banking and Human Capacity Development. She is a World Bank Scholar and a recipient of a Scholarship - Road to Women’s Business Growth Program (Cherie Blair Foundation/Exxon Mobil Foundation) and a member of many associations like African Women Entrepreneurship Program and NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW).

She is currently the Executive Director Brand/Strategy Platform Branding Company and manages the Abuja office.
