LPG SAFETY TRAINING AND CERTIFICATION
The Nigeria Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association (NLPGA) is organising training and certification programs for LPG truck drivers, plant operators and supervisors. Truck drivers will be trained on the handling and transportation of LPG; another program, to be attended by plant operators and supervisors, will also address issues pertaining to safety in those aspects of the LPG industry. This training is sanctioned by the Department of Petroleum Resources.
The ultimate aim of this training exercise is to ensure that workers in the LPG industry are more safety conscious. It is expected that the training will equip workers with the knowledge they need in order to avoid hazards which may arise due to the nature of the work they do. Stakeholders will also benefit from the insightful information provided in this training program, as the attainment of high safety standards makes it less likely that they would incur losses from industrial accidents and disasters.
At the end of the training, tamper proof credit card type identity cards and certificates will be issued to trainees.
The training locations are Lagos, Onitsha, Calabar, Kano and Onitsha, and both batches of training will take place in these cities. The training and certification for LPG truck drivers will come in three batches for Lagos, to hold on 4th and 18th June, and 2nd July 2016. Single batch training sessions for Onitsha and Calabar will take place on 18th June; Abuja and Kano are to have their sessions on 2nd July. These cities are also locations for the training and certification for plant operators and supervisors. The training will be in two sessions, with the training in Lagos to hold on 7th and 8th July. Onitsha, Calabar, Abuja and Kano will all have their sessions on 14th and 15th July. All training takes place from 9:00AM to 4:00PM.

Training fee is ₦35,000. The venue for each training location will be communicated upon registration.
